MISTER DANNY is an award-winning magician AND a high school science teacher.
In the magic world, “MISTER DANNY” is a regular fan-favorite at the Chicago Magic Lounge: headlining in the Harry Blackstone Cabaret, performing close-up magic in the 654 Club, and performing for families in the Sunday matinee shows. He was Chicago Magic Lounge Artist in Residence from October-December in 2024, presenting his solo show Magic In Session to rave reviews, and will return in January 2027 with a new Artist in Residence show. He also performs regularly for corporate events, private parties, and monthly for the University of Chicago Children’s Hospital. He has won multiple awards in contests hosted by the International Brotherhood of Magicians and the Society of American Magicians, and was the editor and annotator of the book The Complete Al Leech. Previously, Mister Danny taught magic to children as the founder and lead counselor of the Magic Inc. Summer Magic Camp for over a decade (2009-2021), and to adults as the first Headmaster and Teacher of the Chicago Magic College at the Chicago Magic Lounge (2019).
In the education world, Mister Rudnick teaches I.B. Chemistry and Integrated Science in Evanston, IL. In 2024 his master’s degree capstone research study, “Use of Magic Tricks as Analogies in the Science Classroom,” was published in The European Journal of Mathematics and Science Education (https://doi.org/10.12973/ejmse.5.2.105). He has also presented for the Science of Magic Association (SoMA), having performed in their convention gala show in 2019, and was featured in a webinar on Educating with Magic in 2021 along with Prof. Richard Wiseman. Additionally, he is a regular guest presenter in Prof. Anthony Barnhart’s “Cognitive Science of Magic” course at Carthage College discussing how cognitive science knowledge informs the performance of magic for children.
Outside of magic, Danny enjoys spending time with his family, doing escape rooms, and playing board games.
